The Final Bliss
Rizal had asked for time, yes he got his desired time.
Rizal asked for direction and guidance, he got the best teacher in the universe, Time.
Now, everything was in Rizal's hand. He too knew this. He had decided to stick to the choice he made previously, and abide by it, whatever the consequences may be.
Although he knew that turning back the pages of his life wasn't a cake walk, yet time had incorporated in him the required confidence and self-belief.
He sat down amidst the chaos, yet far away from it, remembering everything he did. He tried to recollect all his deeds, small or big, beneficial or detrimental. "Tried" isn't necessary because things go on to become spontaneous after some time. He could see all the righteousness and his mistakes with crystal clarity. He sat down with a note and a pen, to enlist all those things he needs to analyse.
Every single incident appeared before his eyes, as if, he was experiencing them again. He was on an emotional rollercoaster. Happy, sad, happy, angry, sad, again happy.... He learnt from each incident. He learnt from each of his mistakes. He learnt from each regret and each tear. The note he wrote read-
- Your mind is your own. Learn to control.
- You can't change everyone, start adjusting.
- Have your say when you have worth.
- Your sorrows are yours. Don't expect others to wipe your tears.
- Work hard. Earn luck.
And so on.....
All this effort would be meaningless if, these virtues dont find their meaning in life. With all the "never-give-up" temperament and stern attitude, he embarked on another odyssey, to achieve what he couldn't and gave it a last shot.
Burying all the bad morals and ill-habits, Rizal moved on. He moved on to the next phase- execution. Rizal followed bit by bit, all what he wrote. He transformed. With time, he became like the reader who is skeptical right from synopsis, instead of the reader who is happy with the gist.
Nothing is achieved by merely thinking about it. Rizal undertook the daunting task. Sacrifice and patience formed the skeleton of his execution, which he had learnt in due course of time. He sacrificed all which hindered his intent, or all what deterred him from the righteous path. The things he sacrificed included his social life, his extrovert nature, his carefree attitude and himself. He patiently waited for the results which he heard, were bound to follow.
Every cloud has a silver lining. It's righteousness is proved time to time. But, the silver lining doesn't always mean "bestowing of invincible destiny". Most of the times this means, there is a door there for you, which lies hidden under the layers of hardwork, patience and humility, but you need to find it and break it open. Rizal, probably had all this. Only what he had in addition to all this was fear! Fear of losing something behind while running after what you need. But, without any discussion, this fear gets self-eradicated as you march ahead to your goal. Trust me!
Finally, Rizal was able to get what he needed, or what he deserved. And, it was all bliss! Further elaboration would leave the bliss bereft of its charm.
Lastly, he realised one thing, "To travel is better than to arrive." For the world outside, what counts is the destination you reach. But for your own self, it's the journey you will cherish. In other words, the course of attainment is more enjoyable than the attainment itself.
The End!
Rizal found bliss, but our mortal souls need solace. For this never-ending hunger, keep checking this humble blog.
